Copa Chile

Die Copa Chile war von 1958 bis 2000 der nationale Pokalwettbewerb von Chile für professionelle Fußballvereine. Als sein Vorgänger wird vielfach das Campeonato de Apertura angesehen, welches von 1933 bis 1950 abgehalten wurde. Wie dieser fand auch die Copa Chile häufig als Saisoneröffnungsturnier statt. Der Wettbewerb fand in den Jahren von 1963 bis 1973, 1976-77 sowie 1997 und 1999 nicht statt.

Aus Termingründen und wohl mangelnder finanzieller Attraktivität für die Vereine wurde der Wettbewerb ab 2000 nicht mehr abgehalten, wenngleich Bestrebungen im Gange sind, die Copa Chile ab 2008 wieder aufleben zu lassen.
